Broome Gets $3-Million in Matching Funds from New York State
Broome County is getting $3.1 million in matching funds from New York State through the County-Wide Shared Services Initiative.
Governor Andrew Cuomo’s office September 13 announced the match of Broome’s savings of $3,140,353 in a partnership with the Capital District BOCES Pharmacy Purchasing Coalition.
The Coalition lets participating groups, like the local school districts, keep their current pharmacy plans and control of plans but pool the shared clout for group purchasing discounts.
The Governor’s office says the state-matched funds to Broome County is the first payment that is expected to be made to 31 counties in the state that became eligible this year.
