The month of September continues to be busy when it comes to road construction. Here are a few things to be aware of for the week of September 15th as you head out on our local roadways, provided by various local agencies and NY 511.

City of Binghamton

On Monday, September 15th, milling and paving of Main Street between Floral Avenue and Glenwood Avenue began. Traffic is limited to one lane during construction, with closure of the eastbound lanes first. A detour is in place on Grand Boulevard. Paving is expected to be complete around the end of September.
On Wednesday, September 17th, the Leroy Street and Helen Street Reconstruction Project is scheduled to begin. Leroy Street from Helen Street to Kneeland Avenue will be closed to through traffic during working hours. It will reopen overnight and on weekends. A detour will be in place on Riverside Drive. Leroy Street is expected to reopen by the second week of October, with work then beginning on Helen Street.
Roadwork on US Route 11 in both directions between Century Drive and Page Road. Two north lanes of four are blocked for wall replacement to occur through November 15th between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Construction has been happening all across the City, with work underway to upgrade aging infrastructure and improve the condition of our streets. These investments are bringing much-needed change to Binghamton’s neighborhoods and commercial thoroughfares, and putting millions of dollars into the local economy. We appreciate residents’ patience with road detours and delays as we continue work to rebuild Binghamton.- City of Binghamton Mayor Jared Kraham
