The arrests and charges listed below do not reflect all the activities of the Broome County Sheriff's Department for the week. All individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Various Charges

From the Town of Chenango, Daniel Witney was charged with Rape in the 3rd Degree,  Patronizing a Person for Prostitution in the 3rd Degree, two counts of Child Endangerment, two counts of Unlawfully Dealing with a Child in the 1st Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, following a statutory rape investigation.

Criminal Obstruction

Following an investigation into an offense involving a child in the Town of Binghamton, Sean Hawkins of the Town of Dickinson was charged with Criminal Obstruction of Breathing or Blood Circulation and Child Endangerment.

Criminal Possession

According to the Broome County Sheriff's weekly arrest report, Orlando Ayala was charged with second-degree identity theft and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property following an investigation into a larceny in the Town of Union.

Jesse Shaw from Hancock was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Impaired by Drugs, four counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, and Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree, following a traffic stop in the City of Binghamton.

Criminal Contempt

The Broome County Sheriff's Department reported that Michael Roma from Johnson City was charged with Criminal Contempt in the 1st Degree, Strangulation in the 2nd Degree, and Harassment in the 2nd Degree, following an investigation into a domestic incident in the Town of Union.

After an investigation into multiple orders of protection violations at the Broome County Correctional Facility, Nicholas Ambrose of Binghamton was charged with four counts of Criminal Contempt in the 1st Degree.

Assault

Kyle Nowalk of Binghamton was charged with Assault in the 2nd Degree following an investigation into a physical altercation at the Broome County Correctional Facility.

Prison Contraband

Charged with Promoting Prison Contraband in the 1st Degree, a Class D Felony, is Devin Ellis, following a contraband investigation at the Broome County Correctional Facility.

Reckless Endangerment

Following a vehicle pursuit in the City of Binghamton, Christopher Ramey from Port Crane was charged with Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd Degree, Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree, and Obstruction of Governmental Administration in the 2nd Degree.

Identity Theft

The Broome County Sheriff noted that Jasmine Petrosky of Binghamton was charged with Identity Theft in the 2nd Degree following a larceny investigation in the Town of Union.
