The latest Broome County Sheriff's Department arrest and charges report was released on May 21, 2026. Activities and arrests are listed below. Persons accused of any crime are considered innocent until proven guilty.

Assault
This week's report from the Broome County Sheriff, following an assault investigation in the Town of Binghamton, John Aldrich, Jr., from Hallstead, Pennsylvania, was charged with Assault in the 3rd Degree.
Promoting Prison Contraband
31-year-old Travis Dise of Binghamton was charged with Promoting Prison Contraband in the 1st Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree following a contraband investigation in the Broome County Correctional Facility.
Gregory Slavin from Binghamton was charged with two counts of Promoting Prison Contraband in the 1st Degree, and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, following a contraband investigation in the Broome County Correctional Facility.
Domestic Incident
According to the Broome County Sheriff's Office, Joseph Tuosto of Endicott was charged with Strangulation in the 2nd Degree, and Harassment in the 2nd Degree, following an investigation into a domestic incident in the Town of Union.
Assault
36-year-old Lauren Chinese from Greene was charged with Assault in the 3rd Degree, following an assault investigation in the Town of Chenango.
Criminal Possession
Following a narcotics investigation in the Town of Fenton, Sarah Jones of Binghamton was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree.
Multiple Charges
Spring Genovese of Binghamton was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 1st Degree, Operating a Motor Vehicle While Impaired by Drugs and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, along with multiple traffic violations, following a traffic stop in the Village of Endicott.
Multiple Traffic Violations
Following a Traffic Stop in the City of Binghamton, 22-year-old Brendan Laurie of Kirkwood was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 1st Degree, Driving While Intoxicated, Operating a Motor Vehicle w/ BAC>.08 (1st Offense), and two counts of Reckless Driving, along with multiple traffic violations.
Melissa Maas of Port Crane was charged with Driving While Intoxicated (1st Offense), and Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd Degree, along with multiple traffic violations, following a DWI investigation in the Town of Chenango.
Following an investigation into a Motor Vehicle Accident in the Town of Binghamton, 30-year-old James Roberts of Binghamton was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 1st Degree, Driving While Intoxicated (1st Offense), and Operating a Motor Vehicle w/ BAC>.08 (1st Offense), a Misdemeanor, along with multiple traffic violations.
