Broome County’s Security Division is continuing to get praise for work in cracking down on welfare fraud in the county.

Over the past few weeks, dozens of cases of alleged fraud have been reported.

At the end of October, County Executive Debra Preston announced the Security Division’s Case Integrity Unit implemented administration disqualification of 51 cases.

November 8th, the County announced 14 new arrests of residents charged with welfare fraud.

30 year old Ivory Harris of Binghamton, 33 year old Jennifer Taylor of Binghamton, 33 year old Sharief Muhammad of Binghamton, 21 year old Tyriff Ward of Binghamton38 year old Anne Johnson of Binghamton, 51 year old Kenneth Martin of Binghamton, 38 year old Rebecca Jones of Whitney Point, 24 year old Andre Jackson of Binghamton, 60 year old Daniel Sayers of Endicott, 22 year old Catherine Marinello of Johnson City and 34 year old Kami Gould of Binghamton are charged with welfare fraud and offering a false instrument for filing.  36 year old Betty Jo Costick of Binghamton, 29 year old Lindsey Colvin of Endwell and 29 year old Thundarr Briggs of Endicott are charged with welfare fraud.

All are scheduled to answer to the charges in Binghamton City Court.
