Broome County’s Popular Airport Inn Restaurant is For Sale
The owner of a well-known eatery and event venue north of Binghamton is looking for someone to buy the place.
Travis Evans of Glen Aubrey has operated the Airport Inn Restaurant in the town of Maine for more than two decades.
Evans said while operations of the restaurant are going "very well," he's decided that he'd like to do something different.
The restaurant was rebuilt after a fire tore through the old Airport Inn building in January 2019.
The business reopened in a newly-constructed facility in April 2020 in the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic. It initially operated as a takeout restaurant to comply with state restrictions.
The Airport Inn business and land recently were listed for sale with an asking price of $1.9 million. The facility includes a banquet hall and a pavilion.
The restaurant is located at 2166 Airport Road, a short distance south of the Greater Binghamton Airport.
Evans said the business has about 30 employees. He said staffing has been a challenge in recent months.
While he's hoping to sell the place, Evans said it will continue to be "business as usual" at the Airport Inn. He noted parties and other private events are scheduled into next summer.
