Congressman Anthony Brindisi has scheduled a "town hall" meeting in Broome County.

Brindisi, who represents New York's 22nd District, announced plans for the session five days after he was sworn in.

The Oneida County Democrat will hold the meeting at American Legion Post 1645 at 39 Louisa Street on Binghamton's East Side. It's scheduled for January 22 at 6 p.m.

Brindisi's office issued a statement indicating the session will be free and open to "all members of the community."

Brindisi expects to hold a town hall event each month. He intends to have a session in each of the district's eight counties this year.

Republican Claudia Tenney, who lost her bid for a second term to Brindisi, had been criticized by some residents for not holding regular open town hall meetings in the district.
