A week after bicyclists sped through Binghamton in a blur for the Chris Thater races, the pace slows down and riders enjoy looking at the historic sites in the downtown area during the annual Binghamton Bridge Pedal.

The Bridge Pedal August 29 is a 9 mile, police-escorted, guided bicycle tour around the downtown and river corridor with participants learning the history of Binghamton's bridges and buildings.

The ride starts and finishes on Water Street and afterward, riders enjoy desserts and ice cream at the Coolest Dessert in Town contest.

Participants’ registration fee included the ride, a tee shirt and the dessert contest.
