Bradford County Pleads Guilty to Witness Intimidation & Resigns

The former Bradford County, Pennsylvania District Attorney faces up to 11 years in prison after pleading guilty Friday, May 7 to felony promoting prostitution, and misdemeanor counts of victim intimidation and obstruction of justice.

Chad Salsman was accused of threatening witnesses and pressuring female victims to have sex with him while he was a private attorney. Salsman resigned upon entering the plea.

Salsman had claimed the accusations against him were part of a political smear campaign and that he had done nothing wrong.

The former prosecutor was elected in November of 2019 and arrested in February of this year.

WNEP reports the Assistant Chief Deputy Attorney General Daniel Dye calls the plea “good for the people of Bradford County”.

According to the report, voters in Bradford County will select a new district attorney in a special election in November.

In addition to up to 11 years in prison, Salsman is looking at a $25,000 fine. Sentencing is scheduled for July.

Salsman’s law license was suspended in March, according to the WNEP report.
