Broome County Sheriff’s investigators were called to River Road shortly before 7 p.m. March 29 by a passerby who noticed a body stuck in an ice jam about 100 yards off shore.

Broome Emergency Services officials say recovery crews were on the scene for around five hours, recovering the remains at around 12:30 a.m.
