Authorities say 24-year-old Brittney Ellis of Morgan Street was arrested following a search on Thursday afternoon.

Investigators say police confiscated more than one ounce of cocaine and drug packaging materials when a warrant was executed at the woman's apartment.

Two children under the age of 15 were in the residence at the time of the raid. Police notified Child Protective Services of the situation.

Police say Ellis was charged with six counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. She also was charged with two counts each of criminally using drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a child.

Ellis was arraigned in Binghamton city court and sent to Broome County Jail.

The arrest was made by members of the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force.
