Binghamton Woman, Infant Boy Stabbed Several Times
A Binghamton man has been charged with attempted murder after he allegedly repeatedly stabbed a woman and the couple's 11-month-old son.
Authorities say 31-year-old Colyn Williams of 10 Gaylord Street was arrested by city police detectives.
Police were called to the Gaylord Street apartment house around 2 a.m. Wednesday.
Investigators say during a dispute, a 22-year-old woman was holding the infant when Williams stabbed them multiple times with a six-inch kitchen knife.
The woman and child sustained serious injuries as a result of the attack. They both remained hospitalized late Wednesday afternoon. Their conditions were not released by police.
Williams was apprehended by city police detectives at a nearby location on the East Side about seven hours after the dispute.
Police executed a search warrant at the site where Williams had been hiding to obtain evidence in connection with the attack.
Williams has been charged with second-degree attempted murder and first-degree assault. He was being held for arraignment in Binghamton City Court.
