Binghamton officials say water service is expected to be interrupted to a few customers on the city's South Side on Wednesday.

According to water maintenance supervisor Mark Cornwell, crews are planning to do work in the area of Morgan Road.

Water service to Morgan Road customers could be shut off between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday. The timing is approximate and the work is to be done if the weather permits it.

Those in the affected area should not try to use water during the period. Water meters, appliances and clothing in washing machines could be damaged.

The water department will flush transmission lines when the work is finished. There could be some water discoloration or cloudiness for a short time after the lines have been flushed.
