Binghamton University counselors are expected to be made available to students and staff following word of the death of a student.


Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file][/caption]The campus publication, Pipe Dream, reports a “B-Line” statement September 24 announced 23-year-old Brandon Peart-Wright of Rockville Centre, New York had died.

Peart-Wright was a senior majoring in Political Science.

According to the Pipe Dream, Peart-Wright had transferred to B.U. from Nassau Community College.

There has been no official word from the University concerning the student’s death and no information about the circumstances surrounding his death or if Peart-Wright passed away in the Binghamton area.

This is the third B.U. student death recorded in 2019.

Neuroscience major Clive Takudzwa Chakavarika died of unknown causes in May.

Political Science Sophomore and Binghamton University Basketball forward Calistus Anyichie drowned in July while on an outing with teammates at Buttermilk Falls State Park near Ithaca.
