Mother Earth is putting the brakes on a celebration of .. Mother Earth.. at Binghamton University.

B.U. was to hold events April 20 in advance of Earth Day on Sunday, April 22 but the festival has been canceled due to inclement weather.

The annual festival had intended to invite students and the community to enjoy a day-long zero waste event in the Peace Quad, in front of the Couper Administration Building on the Vestal campus.

In the past, the festival has included food, hands-on activities, student displays, recycling races and events for children.

International Earth Day is Sunday, April 22.

Broome County’s Earth Fest is taking place Sunday, April 29 at SUNY Broome Community College in the Town of Dickinson and will be held rain, snow or shine. The events for the Binghamton celebration are being held inside.
