Binghamton University Director of Athletics Patrick Elliott announced today that Head Women's Basketball Coach Nicole Scholl will not be offered a contract renewal for next season.  Scholl completed the final season of her existing contract with a loss to regular season America East champion Albany Friday night in the quarter-final round of the America East Tournament.

Scholl has been BU's head women's coach for the past six seasons posting a record of 68-115.  The Bearcats finished this year at 5-25.  Prior to being head coach Scholl served as an assistant coach.  Overall, she has been a member of the coaching staff at Binghamton for 15 years.

In making the announcement Elliott said "We want to thank Nicole for her 15 years with the University. She has always displayed integrity and character and her student-athletes have had noteworthy achievements ion the court as well as academically and in the community.  However, after careful consideration, I have decided to make a change in leadership as we look to build the program toward future success."

The University has launched a nationwide search for a new head coach.  Elliott says he hopes to have someone in place in the next month or so.
