Binghamton’s Station 45 American Chop House Opens for Dinner
After hosting a series of private events and holiday gatherings, a downtown Binghamton restaurant has started taking dinner reservations.
Station 45 American Chop House is located in the historic Lackawanna Train Station on Lewis Street.
Developer Mark Yonaty said the restaurant quietly began serving dinner about two weeks ago to get the staff acclimated to the new operation.
Station 45 American Chop House now is open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m.
The restaurant is located in the renovated waiting room and ticketing area of the former train station.
Yonaty is working to gradually move forward with dinner service to enable the Station 45 staff to pay attention to detail in serving guests.
Although walk-in customers are welcome, reservations are suggested.
Yonaty spent years preparing the former train station for the new restaurant. Workers began clearing out an unused section of the building about four years ago to set the stage for a massive renovation project.
Although many of the historic details of the train station have been retained, plenty of excavation work was performed inside to prepare the place for a modern upscale restaurant operation.
