The Broome Sports Foundation Binghamton Senators Jersey Auction raised over $7,000 for the Tommy Mitchell Memorial Scholarship Fund.  The auction was held last weekend after the B-Sens home game victory against the Syracuse Crunch.

Through the Tommy Mitchell Memorial Scholarship Fund the Broome Sports Foundation has awarded over $200,000 dollars in scholarships to area student athletes.  Scholarships are awarded annually to outstanding amateur hockey, baseball and softball athletes.

The scholarships are given in memory of Tommy Mitchell, an outstanding young hockey player, who was tragically killed in an auto accident on the way to take part in a youth hockey game.

B-Sens jerseys up for bid were game-worn that night and many had been worn during their pre-season training camp visit to France.  The top-earning jersey was worn by B-Sens newcomer and long-time NHL veteran Todd Bertuzzi.  His jersey was auctioned off for $800.
