The city planning commission will hear public comment on Galaxy Brewing Company's plans to open a new tavern and production facility in Binghamton.

The panel is to hold a public hearing on the proposed First Ward project at City Hall Monday at 5:20 p.m.

Galaxy Brewing has operated at a downtown site on Court Street since opening in the summer of 2013. Owners say they plan to expand craft beer production at the old E.H. Titchener property on Clinton Street.

The site between Murray Street and Titchener Place was acquired by Titchener Townhomes LLC, which is controlled by developer Isaac Anzaroot.

A representative of Keystone Associates said the Galaxy Brewing facility is to include a tap room, a game room and a large area where beer will be produced.

Plans also call for a patio area and space for a food truck as well as off-street parking.

Construction work on the building is expected to start by this summer.
