City police detectives have been working to determine the circumstances surrounding the death of a young Binghamton girl.

Authorities say police and medics were sent to the Binghamton Housing Authority's Saratoga apartment complex on the South Side last Friday on a call that a child was not breathing.

An investigator says CPR was started on the three-year-old girl but she was pronounced dead at Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City.

Although an autopsy determined the child died due to a medical issue, the police investigation is continuing.

Detectives have been discussing the circumstances of the death with the Broome County District Attorney's Office.
