Police are investigating a vandalism spree in which several vehicles were damaged while they were parked in a city-owned downtown garage.

Authorities say about ten cars sustained damage in the incident at the State Street parking ramp, which apparently happened late Friday.

Some of the vehicles sustained what was described as "moderate to heavy" damage. Vandals scratched and dented cars parked in the lower level of the garage.

Police received the first report of damage just before eleven o'clock Friday night.

Some car owners reported damage on Saturday.

Detective captain Jack Collins told WNBF News investigators suspect the vandalism may have been the work of teenagers, although no witnesses have reported seeing anyone causing the damage.
