A West Side building that once was home to a neighborhood food market is getting a new life.

The Vibe Lounge has opened at 15 Charlotte Street. The site had been vacant since the Ice House bar closed several years ago.

A Kirkwood man, Eric Boyd, owns the property but he told WNBF News he is not involved in operating The Vibe Lounge. He referred questions about the new business to the owners, who could not be reached Monday afternoon.

A temporary liquor license was issued to The Vibe 15 LLC on January 31.

Video posted on Facebook showed what was billed as a "soft opening" of The Vibe Lounge last Thursday.

A social media posting for the business indicated a Valentine's Day party was to be held last Friday evening.

A new post on The Vibe Lounge Facebook page is promoting what's billed as an "RnB night with Dj Cha Chizzle on Thursday.

The "official grand opening" of the new business was advertised for Saturday.

For many years, The Vibe Lounge building at Charlotte and Florence streets house the Miracle Market, a small grocery store.

Various bars have occupied the space over the past several decades, including the Keyhole Lounge, The Raven Pub and Bobby Dee Jr.'s.

What Are the Signature Drinks From Every State?

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
