45-year-old Wilfredo Pica-Torres is charged with murder in the death of 61-year-old Victor Banyan in February as well as three counts of arson and attempted murder

Pica-Torres is also accused of beating a 27-year-old woman before setting the Walnut Street apartment house on fire.

He fled to a nearby house on Thorpe Street where he barricaded himself inside before also allegedly setting that building ablaze.  He was arrested as he emerged from that burning building.

Pica-Torres was arraigned on murder and arson charges in April following a brief delay in order to find a Spanish-language interpreter.
