Investigators say a Binghamton man has been exchanging counterfeit bills for actual currency multiple times over the past several weeks.

22-year-old Dominick Demmon was arrested Thursday by detectives with the Broome County Sheriff's Office.

The investigation started following a complaint from a Town of Dickinson business.

Demmon was accused of exchanging fake currency for real cash at the establishment, which was not identified by authorities.

Demmon has been charged with first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a felony. He also faces a petit larceny count.

Demmon was released on an appearance ticket.
