Police have arrested a suspect in the early-morning shooting of a man and a woman on the West Side of Binghamton.
An 18-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man were wounded in the attack near 1 Hayden Street. Residents heard several shots around 6:05 a.m. Friday.
The victims were found by police near the intersection of Beethoven and Schubert streets, one block west of where they were shot.
Both of those who were injured live in Binghamton. The man sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his abdomen. He underwent emergency surgery and was hospitalized in critical condition. The woman sustained a gunshot wound to a leg.
Authorities said the suspect is 20-year-old Avian Udelhofen, the woman's former boyfriend. Police tracked him to his residence at 282 Front Street in Binghamton.
