A Broome County Court judge has sentenced a Binghamton resident to more than a decade in prison for having sex with a teenage girl.

Prosecutors say 38-year-old Derrick Cervini pleaded guilty to first-degree criminal sexual act, a felony.

According to his plea, Cervini engaged in sexual conduct with a girl under the age of fifteen in June 2016.

Cervini was arrested by New York State Police in October 2018. He entered the guilty plea about a year later.

Cervini was sentenced to 13 years in state prison and 20 years parole.
