Binghamton Man Sentenced for Slashing Girlfriend with Box Cutter
A Binghamton man is to spend 12 years in prison for slashing his girlfriend’s throat with a box cutter. 46-year-old Shannon Callahan pleaded guilty in September to felony assault.
Police arrested Callahan after he reportedly held down his girlfriend, slashed her with the razor and told her she was going to die on May 22nd in an apartment on Chapin Street on Binghamton’s West Side. The 35-year-old woman was able to flee to a neighboring apartment and call for help.
Callahan had been charged with attempted murder and four other felony counts in the attack but pleaded guilty to the assault charge.
