Binghamton Man Sentenced for Possessing Child Porn for 2nd Time
A Binghamton man is to spend 18-and-a-third years in federal prison for possessing child pornography.
64-year-old repeat offender James O’Brien was sentenced May 8 after pleading guilty in October to uploading child porn on three occasions in June and July of 2017. Officials say they found over 650 images of young children and eight video files on electronic devices in May of 2018.
Federal investigators say O’Brien had previously been convicted in 2008 in Chenango County of possessing a sexual performance of a child less than 16 years old. He was sentenced to six months in jail in that case.
