Binghamton Man Indicted for Attack on Homeless Man
A Binghamton man is formally charged with attempted murder in connection with a brutal attack on a homeless man at the Greater Binghamton Intermodal Transportation Hub in June.
23-year-old Saquawon Linton is also charged with felony counts of assault and evidence tampering in the attack at the downtown bus station on Chenango Street in which the 59-year-old victim, who had been sleeping on a bench at around 2 a.m., was repeatedly stabbed while his attacker, wearing a Halloween mask, told him to “die.”
The victim crawled away from the scene while bleeding profusely and flagged down a passing police officer at Court and State Streets.
Linton was picked up in Syracuse and returned to Binghamton to face the charges in the June 24th attack.
