
Binghamton Man Guilty in Attack on Broome County Jail Inmate
A Broome County Jail inmate is expected to be sentenced to five years in prison for breaking the jaw of a fellow inmate.
20-year-old Stefphon Godbay pleaded guilty Tuesday in Broome County Court to a felony count of second-degree assault.
Prosecutors said Godbay had been accused of attacking the other inmate on January 30.
Godbay was being held at the jail fo a probation violation. According to the district attorney's office, he is to be sentenced to five years in state prison with five years post-release supervision.
Sentencing is scheduled for August 27.
