Binghamton Man Faces Drug, Weapon Charges
New York State Police say heroin and an assault rifle were seized after a search of an apartment on Binghamton's West Side.
Authorities say 34-year-old Barron Jones of West End Avenue was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Investigators say Jones also was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, marijuana possession and evidence tampering.
Police say they confiscated three-and-a-half ounces of heroin, a half-ounce of marijuana and a Ruger .22 caliber assault rifle. They also found $1100 in cash.
Jones was being held in Broome County Jail without bail.
