A Broome County resident was arrested after state police accused him of drunken driving on Interstate 81.

Authorities say 33-year-old Matthew Moriarity of Binghamton was arrested around 4:40 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say a vehicle driven by Moriarity was pulled over by a trooper on I-81 in Cortlandville.

Moriarity allegedly was observed driving erratically and driving between both lanes.

Moriarity was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated. He also was issued several traffic tickets.

According to state police, the driver's blood alcohol content was measured at 0.21 percent.

Moriarity was released on appearance tickets. He was ordered to appear in Cortlandville town court on August 13.

Troopers say Moriarity was released to a sober third party.
