A 33-year-old man has been accused of stabbing his mother's boyfriend during an early-morning dispute in an apartment on Binghamton's West Side.

Authorities say Michael Antoni Junior of Murray Street was charged with first-degree assault, a felony.

Police were called to an apartment next door to Antoni's residence at 4:58 this morning.

Officers found a 57-year-old man had been stabbed in the abdomen. He underwent surgery at Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City.

Detective Captain Jack Collins said the man was reported in stable condition this afternoon.

Collins said investigators believe a knife was used in the stabbing, although no weapon was recovered.

Antoni was arraigned in Binghamton city court and sent to Broome County Jail.
