Binghamton Man Charged After House Set Ablaze by Fireworks

Binghamton Police announce an arrest in a fire that Mayor Richard David July 7 on WNBF's Binghamton Now confirmed was the result of illegal fireworks. 

31-year-old Alexander Parsons is charged with felony arson in the fire July 5 that heavily damaged a house at 556 State Street.

Police found the front of the structure fully engulfed in flames when they arrived and determined people in front of the house were setting off fireworks at 9:45 p-m which started the blaze.

There were no injuries.
