Binghamton Man Accused of Trying to Steal Electronics and Food

A Binghamton man is accused of trying to steal electronics and food from the East Middle School in Binghamton.

City Police responded to a burglar alarm at 12:39 a.m. December 7 and say they found a man carrying a box toward an exit.

When he saw officers, Police say 27 year old Marcus Hamlett ran further into the school.

Police established a perimeter around the building.

Binghamton Police, the B.P.D. K9 Unit and Broome County Sheriff’s K9 Unit found Hamlett hiding on the roof of the school.

Police say they found several computers, other electronics and food packed into a box when they apprehended Hamlett.

He was charged with felony burglary and sent to the Broome County Jail.
