New York State Police accuse a Binghamton man of trying to flee them in a car that had been reported stolen in Vestal Thursday, June 23.

Troopers say they stopped the Hyundai Sonata at 12:10 p.m. for going 83 miles an hour on Route 17 in the Town of Sanford and determined 20 year old Shymil McBee-Miles was the driver of the stolen vehicle.

McBee-Miles drove off at a high rate of speed as troopers approached the vehicle, crashing after three miles on the Route 17 east Exit 82 ramp.

Troopers say McBee-Miles was ejected from the car as it overturned but still tried to crawl away from officers.

He was treated at Wilson Hospital for an injured knee, charged with criminal possession of stolen property and sent to the Broome County Jail without bail.

McBee-Miles faces additional charges by the New York State Police, New York State Parole and Vestal Police Department.
