
Binghamton-JC Sewage Plant to Hire Firm for Maintenance Plan
A private company has been chosen to audit maintenance operations at the Binghamton-Johnson City Joint Sewage Treatment Plant in Vestal.
Binghamton Mayor Richard David said Veolia North America will be hired for the review following a major rehabilitation project at the Vestal Road facility.
David said the firm also will develop a maintenance plan for the operation.
According to the mayor, the Joint Sewage Treatment Plant board has voted to be pay Veolia $66,300 for the project.
David said City Council is expected to vote on the proposal on April 7.
The sewage treatment facility underwent a lengthy and expensive project to make repairs and install new equipment.
