The Forum Theatre will screen the documentary "To Be Of Service" on Thursday night. The documentary demonstrates the effect that a service dog has on improving the lives of veterans. The event begins at 5:30 pm and will benefit Stand With Me, a non-profit organization that operates a service-dog training school for veterans.

Following the free showing of the documentary, there will be a question and answer session with experts and a veteran student in the program.

"I'd like everyone to come here to The Forum on Thursday to really experience what Stand With Me is all about," said County Executive Garnar. "The film that you're gonna be able to watch will show you a number of veterans' lives before and after forming a relationship with a service dog and the tremendous impact that these animals and the work of organizations like Stand With Me have on our veterans every day. It really changes people's lives."

"To Be Of Service will shed a very bright light on the importance of service dogs and what they mean to the veteran community," said State Senator Fred Akshar. "I today am lending my voice to this effort, encouraging the community, free admission, free of charge, come down to The Forum Theatre and view the screening of To Be Of Service."

The event is free to the general public, and anyone interested in attending can reserve seats in advance through EventBrite.
