Binghamton city councilwoman Dani Cronce has announced that she has decided not to run for reelection.

The Democrat who has represented the Third District since 2016 posted a brief statement on Facebook indicating that she won't be seeking another term.

Cronce is the second Democrat on city council to decide against running again. Conrad Taylor, who represents the Fourth District, announced his decision earlier this month.

In her online statement, Cronce said: "I have been very busy with work, developing 3 non profits, running several boards and school."

Cronce said she feels she "can better my community with my non political roles." But she also wrote that she "will be running for a higher position in the future."

Cronce could not be reached immediately to elaborate on her statement.

Another Democrat, Angela Riley two weeks ago announced she is running for city council in the Third District.
