School districts all across the region and elsewhere have been struggling even prior to the pandemic with attracting and maintaining staff with many teaching jobs open and almost constant ads looking for school bus drivers. COVID-19 further complicated matters and many districts were turning to retired educators and new graduates in an attempt to fill available positions.
