The Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce has selected its next leader.

Chamber chairman Peter Newman has announced that Stacey Duncan will become the organization's president and CEO starting November 1.

Duncan will oversee the chamber of commerce while retaining her role as executive director of the Broome County Industrial Development Agency.

Chamber president Jennifer Conway left the post in June for a new job in Oklahoma.

Newman said Duncan has "demonstrated an ability to lead collaborative efforts."

In what is being described as a "strategic leadership alliance," Duncan is to serve as the administrative link between the boards of directors of the chamber and "The Agency."

Each organization will remain a separate corporation with its own governing board.

Amy Shaw will become chief operating officer at the chamber to manage day-to-day operations and programs.
