Businesses that want to put down roots or expand in the City of Binghamton have a chance at realizing those plans with support from the City and SUNY Broome’s Entrepreneurial Assistance Center.

Entries are being accepted until April 6 for the 2022 Binghamton Business Plan Competition.

The winner gets a five-thousand dollar cash award and several in-kind services from legal counsel to sign and web design. The prizes for second and third place business proposals have been increased by the Binghamton Local Development Corporation to two-thousand dollars for second place and five-hundred dollars for third place.

Applicants must either plan to start a business in Binghamton or have an existing business less than five years old that is located in the Parlor City. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to finance and open their business within four years of winning and commit to keep the venture in the City for at least three years.
