It was a memorable weekend for the Binghamton Bearcats men's cross country team as they captured the America East Championship held in Orono, Maine. The Bearcats had four runners place in the top 11 and five in the top 21 to earn the conference title.  The BU women finished eighth in the nine-team meet.

This is the second America East men's title in 14 seasons of competition in America East.  Binghamton also finished second on two different occasions.

The Bearcats finished with a meet-best 59 points.  UMass Lowell was runner-up with 62 points and defending champion UMBC finished third with 85 points.

Binghamton's top finisher was senior Matt Johnson who finished in eighth-place.  He covered the 8,000 meter course in a time of 25:19:14.  Senior Jesse Garn was ninth with a time of 25:19:91.  Ethan Hausamann was 10th with a time of 25:21:51.  All three garnered All-Conference honors.

Coach Annette Acuff was named the America East's Men's Coach of the Year.  This is her second such honor.  She won in 2009 as well.
