The Greater Binghamton Airport will be receiving additional federal aid to cover some of the costs of a rehabilitation project.

Congressman Richard Hanna has announced that more than $1.1 million in assistance from the United States Department of Transportation has been approved.

The money will be used to repave the west apron at the town of Maine airport.

The project also calls for the construction of a concrete helipad.

Other federal funding has been authorized over the past year for repairs and improvements at BGM Airport.
