The City of Binghamton is moving forward with sending assistance funds to businesses and nonprofits dealing with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The City has received authorization from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to accept applications from non-profits and small businesses with 50 or fewer employees for assistance in paying rent, utility and overhead bills.

$211,250 dollars is allocated from the CARES Act federal relief fund each for nonprofit and business assistance.

Applications are due August 7.

With City Hall closed, applications can be requested electronically by sending an email to ecrecovery@cityofbinghamton.com  Information is available at www.binghamton-ny.gov/covid-19-small-business-non-profit-relief.

Additional programs are available in August for preventing homelessness, rental and utility assistance and mortgage assistance.
