You can see the entire, 31-page listing of grants, what organizations are getting the money and specific performances or programs being funded at www.governor.ny.gov.

The grants were for either $5,000 or $10,000 dollars each.

Nearly $30 million dollars has been distributed to-date by the state for arts programs which are seen as local economic drivers as well as a way to draw tourism business to a region and improve quality of life for local communities.

The program has been developed by the New York State Council on the Arts and supports the return of live performances following the total shutdown of programs during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic last year.

State official say at least 60 percent of each grant award will provide compensation for artistic and/or creative professionals.
