Bearcats Travel to Stony Brook in America East Quarter-Finals

The Binghamton Bearcats will travel to Stony Brook to meet the Seawolves next Wednesday in the opening round of the America East Basketball Tournament.  Stony Brook defeated UMass Lowell last night to clinch a third seed while the Bearcats have cilnched a sixth seed.  They will meet at the Island Federal Credit Union on Long Island where Stony Brook topped the Bearcats 64-52 last week.  That win gave the Seawolves a regular season sweep.  Stony Brook downed Binghamton 61-54 at the Events Center on January 25.Binghamton and Stony Brook have met two previous times in the America East tournament.  Both meetings have been in the quarter-final round.  Stony Brook beat BU on March 3, 2012 by a score of 78-69.  Then on March 9, 2013 the Seawolves rolled to a 72-49 final.

Before the Bearcats get to the post-season they have to worry about the UMBC Retrievers.  Binghamton hosts UMBC February 28  in a scheduled 2:00 p.m. start at the Events Center.  The game will bring the regular season to a close for both teams. The Retrievers will play either Albany or Vermont in next week's opening round.
