The Binghamton Bearcats were looking for an improved season under second-year coach Linda Cimino but received some bad news over the weekend when an MRI showed that star guard Jasmine Sina is lost for the season with a torn ACL in her right knee.  Sina suffered the injury in conditioning drills last Wednesday.

Binghamton posted a 4-26 record last season and went 2-14 in America East.  Sina was being counted on to provide the spark to turn things around.  She averaged 14.8 points per game and played 39.1 minutes per game...tops in the America East Conference..

Sina was selected as the America East Rookie of the Year and named to the conference's All-Rookie Team.  She and guard Imani Watkins who averaged 13.5 points per game combined to produce 28.4 points per contest.  Overall, the team averaged 58.3 points per outing so Sina and Watkins accounted for almost 49 percent of the team's offense.

The Bearcats open the 2015-16 campaign at the Events Center on Friday, November 6 at 5:30 PM versus East Stroudsburg in an exhibition game.  They then head to Ann Arbor, Michigan on November 14 to meet the Wolverines at Noon.
