The Binghamton Bearcats hope to start the second half of their America East conference schedule with a home court victory Saturday at the Events Center when they host the UMass Lowell River Hawks.  Tip-off is set for 2 PM (air at 1:45 on News Radio 1290 WNBF).  Binghamton looks for its second straight win this week.

In the first conference game of the season played at the Costello Arena in Lowell on January 2nd the River Hawks won a 50-40 decision.  UMass Lowell is in its second season of Division I competition after great success at the Division II level.

Heading into this weekend's match-up the River Hawks are 3-5 in America East while Binghamton is 2-6.  A Bearcat win would tie the teams for sixth place in the conference.  The River Hawks have lost four consecutive games after starting the America East slate with a 3-1 record.  Freshman Jahad Thomas is their top gun averaging 14 points per game.

Willie Rodriguez leads Binghamton offensively following a 15 point, eight rebound game in the win at UMBC.  He is averaging 10.6 points per game and has scored in double figures in eight of his last ten games. Bobby Ahearn has scored 11 points in each of his last two outings.

The Bearcats remain home to host Hartford Tuesday night before heading to Maine to meet the Black Bears next Saturday afternoon.
