Bearcats Hang Tough in Loss at Boston College

The Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team battled a bigger Boston College Eagles team for much of the game today in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts before falling 63-49.  As has been the case in the last several games Binghamton fell behind at the end of the first half, this time trailing 32-18, but played BC to a 31-31 deadlock over the second 20 minutes. However,  the Bearcats sputtering offense could not put any major runs on to challenge the Eagles down the stretch.

The Bearcats found points inside the paint difficult to come by with BC's 7 foot center Clifford Dennis patrolling the lane.  Binghamton scored just 18 points inside.  With the middle clogged up the need for successful three-point shooting was amplified significantly.  Unfortunately for Binghamton that did not happen as the Bearcats only hit 2 of 17 shots from outside the arc.

Binghamton's Justin McFadden had his best game as a Bearcat.  The freshman guard scored 18 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.  He also went 8-8 at the free throw line. Romello Walker scored 9 points for Binghamton. The Eagles had three players in double figures and were led by Dimitri Batten who scored 18 points.

The Bearcats fall to 1-11 while Boston College moves to 6-3.  Binghamton is idle until Saturday when the Bearcats host St. Bonaventure at 2 PM.
